YO! FEST '02 Update

Thanks to all of you who came for the final YO! Personally, it was one of the nicest festivals of all. For those of you who could not make, you missed out.

Unfortunately, there are no pictures at this time. I, as well as several others, took photographs and I will post them as soon as they are available.

We would like to thank to all of those who put forth extra effort to make this happen: Eric Estridge, Olivia Nix, Josh Hawkins, Jessica Mills, Steve Hannaford, Angela Cheney, Preston Burkes, Nikki Holden, Nicholas Sullivan, Newt Benson, John Horton, Jay Estridge, B.J. Clayton, the Overtons, Richard Walden, Josh Vick, Lindsay Nichols, Vance Austin, Scott Goodnight, and all of you whose names can't come to mind at this time.

Also thanks to: Jason and Jason (Meat and Taters), Krossover, Jay Harrington and the Royal Sons, Will Barrett, the Kudzu Kings, Mitch Klink, Gil Bridges, and Michael Wells.

Special thanks to Chancery Court Judge candidates, Adam Pittman and Vicki Cobb, who recognized the YO! Festival for what it is (a music festival) rather than what it is perceived to be by those who have never attended. Hats off to you!

For now, I'd like to post this article written by my friend, Jamie Kornegay, which appeared in "Oxford Town" around December of 1999. As Batesville slowly grows further and further from the small town we all grew up in, into a town rapidly losing it's family owned busniesses, this article is as significant to us as is it was to Oxford a few years ago. FYI: A civic leader told me a few weeks ago that though Batesville has an organization to bring about "progress," there are no known committees to preserve it's "Small Townness."
