TIPS TO HELP YOU ALONG THE WAY Microsoft Linux Anti-Virus Hardware Software About Me

Linux is an alternative to Windows. Linux is know as a Open Source operating system. This means that you can download the OS and the source codes and modify it to fit your needs. However Linux is not for everybody. Linux is harder to setup on a computer and takes more time to learn how to use it. There are over 11 versions of Linux available. I will list some of the most popular later. With Linux you have to consider the hardware in your system before you install Linux. Mostly phone modems, some video cards, and sound cards. Most of the modems today are designed with Windows in mind (known as WinModems). These modems don't always work with Linux so you have to watch for that. One great advantage of Linux is that it is not susceptible to viruses like Windows. Don't get me wrong there is a chance of getting a virus just not a very big chance. If you want to challenge yourself and learn something new, give Linux a try.

The best book to buy for Linux or anything else really is "Linux for Dummies". It is well written and easy to understand.
