XII. Many unfulfilled prophecies have to do with the earthly City of
Jerusalem. The events in the Middle East will bring about the end of time and
the return of Jesus "in the clouds" as he went away.
- Although the future status of Jerusalem is being confronted by Israel
and the PLO as of this writing (July 2000), The LORD has already revealed
what is going to take place in the days ahead. Man will have NO answer,
only GOD!
Zechariah 12:2-3
Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of
trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege
both against Judah and against Jerusalem. 3And in that day will I
make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves
with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered
together against it. (KJV)
Zechariah 14:1-3
Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy
spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2For I will gather
all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and
the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth
into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the
city. 3Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations,
as when he fought in the day of battle. (KJV)
Revelation 20:7-9
And when the thousand years are expired, Satan
shall be loosed out of his prison, 8And shall go out to deceive
the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to
gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the
sea. 9And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the
camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from
God out of heaven, and devoured them. (KJV)
Isaiah 6:8-13
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom
shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. 9And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but
understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. 10Make the heart
of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they
see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart,
and convert, and be healed. 11Then said I, Lord, how long? And
he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the
houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate, 12And the LORD
have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of
the land. 13But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall
return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is
in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be
the
substance thereof. (KJV)
See these same words in Matt. 13:11-17; John 12:37-41; Rom. 11:7-10
Joel 3:1-2
For, behold, in those days, and in that time,
when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem, 2I
will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of
Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my
heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
(KJV)
Joel 3:9-16
Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles;
Prepare
war, wake up the mighty men, let all the men of war draw near; let them come up:
10Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into
spears: let the weak say, I am strong. 11Assemble yourselves,
and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither
cause thy mighty ones to come down, O LORD. 12Let the heathen be
wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge
all the heathen round about. 13Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest
is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their
wickedness is great. 14Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of
decision: (Heb. = concision; threshing) for the day of the
LORD is near in the valley of decision. 15The sun and
the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. 16The
LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the
heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his
people, and the strength of the children of Israel. (KJV)
Compare the above "sickle," harvest," etc. with these other
prophetic scriptures:
Matthew 13:37-43
He answered and said unto them, He that soweth
the good seed is the Son of man; 38The field is the world; the good
seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the
wicked one; 39The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest
is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels. 40As
therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in
the end of this world. 41The Son of man shall send forth his
angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and
them which do iniquity; 42And shall cast them into a furnace of fire:
there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43Then shall the
righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears
to hear, let him hear. (KJV)
Revelation 14:14-20
And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon
the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown,
and in his hand a sharp sickle. 15And another angel came out
of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in
thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest
of the earth is ripe. 16And he that sat on the cloud thrust in
his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped. 17And another
angel came out of the temple which is in heaven, he also having a sharp sickle.
18And
another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and cried with
a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp
sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth; for her grapes are
fully ripe. 19And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth,
and gathered the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the
wrath of God. 20And the winepress was trodden without the CITY,
and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space
of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.
- Important! It is plain to see that there are TWO (2) references above: One
has to do with "the earth," & the second with the VINE (=
Israel). The City is Jerusalem, & the place where the blood will be 200
miles is in the Valley of Jezreel as Hosea predicted (1:4-6) which is called
"the place of Armageddon," which word is found only one time
in the Bible (Rev. 16:16).
Isaiah 5:1-7 Now will I sing to my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching
his
vineyard. My wellbeloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:
2And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and
planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of
it, and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring
forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes. 3And now, O
inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt
me and my vineyard. 4What could have been done more to my
vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it
should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes? 5And now
go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away
the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall
thereof, and it shall be trodden down: 6And I will lay it
waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers
and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
7For
the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men
of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for judgment, but behold
oppression; for righteousness, but behold a cry. (KJV)
Deuteronomy 32:28-36 For they are a nation void of counsel,
neither is there any understanding in them. 29O that they were
wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
30How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to
flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up? 31For
their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. 32For
their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the
fields of Gomorrah: their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are
bitter: 33Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel
venom of asps. 34Is not this laid up in store with me, and
sealed up among my treasures? 35To me belongeth vengeance,
and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time: for the day of their
calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste. 36For
the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he
seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left.
Deuteronomy 32:43 Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people:
for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his
adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people. (KJV)
Matthew 23:29-39 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees,
hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the
sepulchres of the righteous, 30And say, If we had been in the days
of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the
prophets. 31Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are
the children of them which killed the prophets. 32Fill ye up then
the measure of your fathers. 33Ye serpents, ye generation of
vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell? 34Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and
scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some
of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute
them from
city to city: 35That upon you may come all the righteous blood
shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of
Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
36Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this
generation. 37O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest
the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I
have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens
under her wings, and ye would not! 38Behold, your house
is left unto you desolate. 39For I say unto you, Ye shall not
see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the
name of the Lord. (KJV)
Important! - note that the "Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother
of Harlots and Abominations of The Earth" is this SAME CITY OF JERUSALEM!
Revelation 17:5-6 And upon her forehead was a name written,
MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and
with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with
great admiration. (KJV)
Revelation 18:24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and
of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. (KJV)
This included JESUS! (Innocent blood).
Luke 23:13-15
13And
Pilate, when he had called together the chief priests and the rulers and the
people, 14Said unto them, Ye have brought this man unto me, as one
that perverteth the people: and, behold, I, having examined him before
you, have found no fault in this man touching those things whereof ye
accuse him: 15No, nor yet Herod: for I sent you to him; and, lo,
nothing worthy of death is done unto him. (KJV)
Matthew 27:22-26 Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then
with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be
crucified. 23And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done?
But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. 24When
Pilate saw that he could prevail nothing, but that rather a tumult was made, he
took water, and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, I am innocent
of the blood of this just person: see ye to it. 25Then
answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.
26Then released
he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to
be crucified. (KJV)
Romans 9:27-29 Esaias also crieth concerning Israel,
Though
the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, a remnant
shall be saved: 28For he will finish
the work, and cut it short in righteousness:
because a short work will the Lord make upon the earth. 29And as
Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been
as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha. (KJV)
"finish the work"
= GRK = settle the account that is unpaid.
Romans 11:5-10 Even so then at this present time also there
is a remnant according to the election of grace. 6And if by
grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it
be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. 7What
then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election
hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded 8(According as it is
written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not
see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day. 9And David
saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a
recompence unto them: 10Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not
see, and bow down their back alway.
Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be
ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that
blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be
come in. (ALL Israel {v.26} = all of Spiritual Israel, not fleshly
nation.
